Liberty Media Offers To Acquire 40% Stake In IHeartMedia.

Liberty Media has submitted a proposal to acquire a 40% stake in a restructured iHeartMedia that would give the investment firm four seats on the company’s board of directors. Under the proposal, submitted on Saturday, Liberty would invest $1.159 billion in cash in iHeart. Liberty and Sirius XM Radio, which Liberty owns a majority stake of, would equally split 40% of newly issued shares in the recapitalized company.

Emmis Vet Will Run Entercom’s Expanded St. Louis Cluster.

Ahead of its expected purchase of two St. Louis stations from Emmis, Entercom is making a management change in the home of the Gateway Arch. John Sheehan, the senior VP/market manager of Entercom’s “News Talk 1120” KMOX, AC KEZK-FM (102.5) and hot AC “Y-98” KYKY since 2007, is leaving that post, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. His replacement is reportedly Becky Domyan, who has been director of Sales for Emmis St. Louis and with Emmis since 2006.

Sinclair Signals It Plans To Keep Chicago’s WGN Radio

Sinclair Broadcast Group’s blockbuster $3.9 billion deal to buy Tribune Media would create the largest local broadcast television platform in the country.

But as Sinclair files paperwork disclosing which TV stations it’ll spin-off to comply with ownership limits, the company is signaling it has no plan to sell the lone radio station included in the transaction.
