“Untouchable” BOSASA CEO dies in car crash – case of culpable homicide has been opened

CEO of controversial company Bosasa, now African Global Operations, Gavin Watson (73) died on Monday in a car crash. The crash happened close to OR Tambo International Airport.

While the police have not released the identity of the man as they are waiting to notify his next of kin, Eyewitness News has learnt that it is Watson.

“The man was driving into the airport precinct, when he allegedly lost control of his vehicle and collided with a concrete pillar holding up a highway bridge. The victim was certified dead on the scene by paramedics and a case of culpable homicide has been opened for investigation,” the police said through a statement on Monday.

Watson and some top managers at his company – including former COO Angelo Agrizzi – were also implicated as having given government officials money and other lavish gifts in exchange for favours.

Left-wing media and its journalists were apparently bribed by Bosasa and form part of the corruption scandal

Former Bosasa chief, Angelo Agrizzi, has been rattling the cages  of the so called left-wing media and journalists when he named the names of journalists who are part of the corruption scandal. This all happened during the court procedure where he was giving evidence on day seven.

According to Agrizze, as much as R30,000 a month was paid to journalists to write positive reports about Bosasa, but there are also journalists who refuse to admit they were bribed.

One company director asked for R71,000 to be paid, of which R30,000 has to be set aside for journalists, which, according to observers, is indicative of the extent of the Bosasa corruption network.

Ramaphosa’s share in SA’s dilapidated state is questioned and his latest press release is inconsistent: “I did not deliberately mislead Parliament about R500 000 Bosasa donation”

President Cyril Ramaphosa, in a statement to the Public Protector, says he “did not deliberately mislead Parliament” regarding the R500 000 Bosasa contribution to his 2017 ANC presidential campaign.

The statement follows Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane confirming on January 25 that she would investigate whether Ramaphosa had lied about a campaign donation received from controversial facilities company Bosasa, now known as African Global Operations (AGO).

Mkhwebane’s decision came after DA leader Mmusi Maimane and EFF leader Julius Malema on several occasions said that Ramaphosa had lied to Parliament about the money his ANC presidential campaign received from Bosasa CEO Gavin Watson. Ramaphosa met with Mkhwebane on January 29, to discuss the donation.

Bosasa has received billions of rands in government contracts over the past decade and has been implicated in alleged corruption.

The Secretary of the Commission investigating State capture, dr. Khotso De Wee had to go on “leave” after it was revealed that he also received Bosasa bribes.

The accusation was made on Friday, the third day of Angelo Agrizzi’s testimony before the Commission.

In addition to the accusation against the secretary, it is also another point of reference as to what extent the actual situation of corruption in South-Africa seems to be.

Agrizzi said he was informed that De Wee secretary was one of several senior officials at the Department of Justice who received Bosasa bribe money.

Observers say it now appears that the country is totally rotten because of corruption, and that this is probably just the peak of a massive iceberg corruption.

Is anyone actually surprised that former president Jacob Zuma is implicated by Angelo Agrizzi in Bosasa’s nest of corruption and where he allegedly received R300 000 per month in bribery money

Former head of Bosasa, Angelo Agrizzi, announced in his testimony before the Commission on State Enquiry that Jacob Zuma had received thousands of rand from the organization every month.

He said Bosasa paid Jacob Zuma R300 000 a month and he was “on the payroll” of the company.

Allegedly, one has seen what was recorded in the statements by Angelo Agrizzi, and that Gavin Watson apparently made payments to Zuma regularly not to disclose his actions.

Political analysts say it will take Cyril Ramaphosa very long to curb all the corruption, while others think it will rather increase in monetary value as well as in the number of cases.

Angelo Agrizzi also reported that there were other people who shared in the additional income, and referred to two people who each received R100,000 to keep silent.

Former Bosasa COO Angelo Agrizzi makes the Guptas look like monks. His damning testimony at the state capture inquiry has turned heads nationwide.

We just do not know where to begin on this one. The state capture inquiry is most definitely doing its job, as bombshell testimony became a weekly fixture before Christmas. This was the commission’s first day back, and honestly, it was a thriller. Former Bosasa COO Angelo Agrizzi has been spilling tea like no-one’s business.

The security service company have long been under suspicion for a series of dodgy deals with private business, and the ANC government. In their most recent controversy, they made a suspicious payment of R500 000 to Cyril Ramaphosa’s son, Andile – a deal that still hasn’t been fully explained.
