Cyril who? US reporter refers to Ramaphosa as ‘unidentified leader’

An American journalist has drawn the ire of South Africans after she tweeted a picture of world leaders at the G7 Summit in Biarritz, France, identifying three heads of state except for President Cyril Ramaphosa, whom she refers to as an “unidentified leader”.

Darlene Superville, a White House correspondent for the Associated Press, tweeted on Sunday: “World leader bear hug before the group photo @ #G7Summit in Biarritz, France. @EmmanuelMacron @narendramodi @JustinTrudeau and one unidentified leader.”

She tagged Emmanuel Macron, the president of France, Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada, and Narendra Modi, the prime minister of India, but somehow could not identify Ramaphosa.
Ramaphosa arrived at the summit on Sunday and aims to market South Africa as an investment destination and trade partner during the summit, Fin24 reported.

Economist says Zuma government cost taxpayers about R470bn – What a waste of good money!

Nedbank chief economist Dennis Dykes says the Zuma regime has cost South Africa R470bn.

Dennis Dykes says they have done a thorough calculation that is South Africa’s loss due to corruption, maladministration and distorted policies in Jacob Zuma’s second term.

He says there was an estimated loss of R140bn due to taxes lost and now having an impact on the economy.

He also points out that government debt would also have been 49% less, amounting to R250 billion.

The amount lost in the latter half of Zuma’s regime is greater than Eskom’s total debt burden.

In response to the interview that appeared in Business Day, a businessman from Pretoria was merely saying, “Zuma, you bastard.”

ANC regime landgrab program is used in an attempt to recruit government votes for the upcoming election

The Department of Public Works says a “rapid follow-up” process is planned to make land available quickly to give momentum to the landgrab program.

The state has a property portfolio of more than 93,000 buildings and more than 1.9 million hectares of land under the control of the Department.

The government’s land-grabbing program entails that land, as well as any other property, can be claimed by the rulers without compensation.

During a briefing in the parliamentary committee, Sasa Subban, the deputy director general of the department said a 100 properties were earmarked to be released by the end of 2019, and 100 properties in the following year financial year.

He says the North West has been identified as the province with the largest number of outstanding restitution claims, which apparently cover 93 properties.
