SAA pilots willing to strike to ‘save’ national airline – will be a first in its 80-year existence

SAA pilots said on Thursday they were willing to go on strike, if necessary, unless “critical operational and technical deficiencies” were addressed. The Pilots Association has begun the process of recruiting among its members to determine how they think about the possibility of strikes. SAA has a history that its pilots will not go on strike, and to date they will only consider it as a last possibility. This possible strike will be a first in its 80-year existence.

The investigation and poll started by an independent service provider asked each pilot what they thought about a possible strike and the need to turn around in the struggling airline. Of the 635 SAA pilots, 516 (81%) participated in the survey, and 91% believe that the management team is pathetic. About 96% are in favor of having pressure to improve the shipping company’s conditions.

Home invasion victim Braam Blignault lost both his legs from wounds suffered during a home invasion and is waiting to die after contracting an infection and does not even have money for morphine to dull the pain. Young South African Braam Blignault lost both his legs since making this (english-language) video below.

He is now at home waiting to die, the state hospital has said they can do no more for him.

This family cannot afford health insurance and therefore they cannot afford the morphine he needs to stay comfortable and at least make the most of the time he has left with his wife and kids. He has an infection in his pelvis and a septic wound where the skin is too weak to be stitched together.

Five dangerous criminals escape from Klerksdorp court

The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation are in pursuit of Sibusiso Sibeko (40), Tebogo Molefi Ntenchane (35), Bongani Eudwin Mkhwanazi (51), Sithembiso Mthembu (43), Tshepo Seboko (37) who escaped from Klerksdorp Regional court on Tuesday 17 September 2019.

The five suspects escaped after making a brief appearance facing charges of armed robbery, illegal possession of unlicensed firearms, hijacking, possession of stolen vehicles and attempted murder.

The five accused were arrested in November 2015, following an armed robbery that took place in Wolmaransstad. It is alleged that the accused rammed into a vehicle that was driven by a security manager of a mine, pointed a firearm at the driver and stole diamond gravel that was loaded in the vehicle. They then allegedly hijacked an Isuzu bakkie from a member of the community and drove off towards Schweizer Reneke.

Moyo and Old Mutual still struggling to come to terms – Insurance company refuses Moyo to be temporarily restored to office

The insurance giant Old Mutual still refuses the reinstate CEO Peter Moyo, who was recently fired.

The Supreme Court has ordered Moyo to be reinstated, but the company refuses to re-employ Moyo.

Moyo’s lawyer said Old Mutual should allow his client to resume his duties, but the employer says the lawyer is not the judge.

Old Mutual says only one judge has the final say on whether to reinsure Peter Moyo as an employee.

According to reports, the company has now banned Peter Moyo for a third time from taking office again.

Judge Brian Mashile ordered Moyo to be temporarily restored to office, but the insurance company prevented Moyo from taking his position every time.

Minister of Police must pay R300,000 plus interest for wrongful, unlawful arrest

The Constitutional Court ordered that the Minister of Police pay R300,000 plus interest since 2012 to Brian de Klerk for an unlawful, illegal, arrest.

A person has complained to De Klerk even though he had punched the complainant and was therefore injured, and the police decided to arrest De Klerk on the strength of it.

The law stipulates that a person must appear in court within 48 hours, but De Klerk has been in custody longer without being given the opportunity to state his case.

He was also not given the opportunity to apply for bail upon his first appearance in court, and had to return to the cells.

After the events, he decided to sue the Minister of Police, and the judge gave him the opportunity to state his case, and then ordered the police to show up.

12 Municipalities in the Eastern Transvaal are under suspicion of mismanagement and corruption – R2 billion worth of wasteful expenditure incurred

The Zondo Commission, which raises millions of rand from the state treasury, has now had to shift its focus to the Eastern Transvaal to hear evidence of corruption and state capture in state-owned entities.

Corruption in many municipalities in the province, as well as mismanagement and maladministration, seems to have been addressed.

At least 12 municipalities are suspected of being guilty of corruption and mismanagement, and it appears the municipalities of, among others, Piet Retief, Lydenburg, Carolina, Balfour, Volksrust, Ermelo, Standerton, Middelburg and Delmas and three location municipalities are in danger .

According to a report by the Auditor-General, about R2 billion of expenditure was incurred unlawfully among the municipalities, and more than R236 million was a mere waste of funds.

Of all the illegal expenses, one particular case was pointed out in excess of R5 million paid for repairing a road that does not exist at all.

ANC regime threatens financial survival of SA, Government debt increases every day

The ANC government is extremely dangerous and threatens the financial survival of South Africa, as its eagerness to lend remains unsaturated.

This is the opinion of an economic adviser following the SA Reserve Bank’s announcement that government debt is rising faster than provided by any institution.

The government’s total loan debt has risen to a breathtaking level of just over 58% of the annual budget.

Experts point out that South Africa has now reached the point where Moody’s can no longer turn its head, and even if that were to happen, it is an undeniable reality that the country has landed deep into the abyss of being subjected to junk status, and may not be coming out of it again soon.

Launching NHI is not going to improve healthcare – SA health services could face a shortfall of 400,000 nurses by 2025

The government’s intention to launch a National Health Insurance already appears to be incoherent. Apart from the only two days the members were given to an advisory committee to determine which medical conditions would be covered, another “massive problem” has now emerged:

Prospective nursing staff are hampered by the accreditation of Institutions where they had to be trained, apparently placed on the long track. This means that no nursing staff will be trained next year. Currently, there is an estimated ratio of 1 nurse to 1,000 patients nationwide and this ratio will continue to deteriorate.

Another problem is students who want to be trained as nurses for Intensive care, neonatal care and pediatrics, trauma, and casualty posts. Maintaining our current primary health care is already showing serious shortcomings and will now be further undermined.

Telkom plan to switch off ADSL completely and exit copper entirely

In May 2019, Telkom CEO Sipho Maseko was quoted as saying that Telkom recently developed a roadmap concerning the proactive migration of customers to newer infrastructure.

“We are hoping that in the next five years we would have exited copper entirely,” Maseko said. This means that if it is successful with its plan, Telkom’s operational network would primarily comprise mobile, LTE, and fibre technology.

At the same press event, Maseka continued to say that the company’s fixed-broadband subscriber base – which includes ADSL and FTTH customers – decreased by 13,8% to 847 650 over the period and added that Telkom’s fixed LTE customer base now represents more than its historical peak ADSL user base.

Interesting statistics and indeed a fine achievement from a technology growth and future-ready strategy perspective.

Rotten ANC-regime gives valuable Sandton land to Gupta’s, steals Alexandra renewal money

How is it possible that this rotten ANC organization, which has proven over and over that it is nothing more than an organized criminal cartel, fool the people of South Africa for so long? In another massive scandal it has come to light that the land on which the Sandton Gautrain station is built and the space above it that is earmarked for development was raked in by the Gupta front company ‘Regiments Capital’ totally for free.

This massive scandal dates back to the days when the ANC still ruled Johannesburg. It came to light by chance when the water supply was cut off to the Gautrain station because the property taxes were not paid. The 3 hectare land of the Gautrain station belongs to Cedar Park 39 Pty Ltd, which is part of the Regiments group.
