The crime rate is quite alarming and no one is spared the assault. On duty M-Net’s Carte Blanche TV crew is held and robbed at gunpoint in Johannesburg.

According to a report by News24: A new surveillance camera system, Vumacam from Vumatel, is being rolled out in the Johannesburg central business district (CBD) and surrounding suburbs as an R500 million high-tech solution to South Africa’s rising crime rates, but some people are objecting over privacy concerns.

Radio presenter Masa Kekana joined Carte Blanche to do her first insert as a guest presenter but then endured a baptism of fire when Kekana and the crew suddenly became a crime statistic after they were held up and robbed at gunpoint with no visual footage to show for it.

Kekana interviewed spokesperson Murray Hunter of the civil rights organisation Right2Know (R2K) on a suburb street corner in Johannesburg with cameraman Thabo Maleswene.

Farmers give them a home, work, food and other perks and then this happens:- Farmer gruesomely attacked by farm workers

Farm attack took place in Zeerust on 23 March 2019, at about 18H00. Mr. and Mrs. Scheepers was attacked by two men, one of whom was a farm worker, about 20 km outside Zeerust on their farm. One of the workers started working on the farm on 8 January 2019.

He had been absent due to an illness but arrived there and insisted on his wage. It’s not the end of the month. The attack happened about 500 meters from home where he attacked them with a broken beer bottle.

SAPS was contacted and arrived 1 hour 45 minutes later. The security people were there within minutes.

The SAPS went with Mrs. Scheepers to a shebeen where the worker and his accomplice were arrested. At the police station, Mrs. Scheepers had to first pay the wages of the worker who attacked them. The SAPS didn’t want to take no for an answer.

Two underage children were in the house at the time of the incident.

SAMWU has been dogged by scandal over misappropriation of union funds – new damning discoveries made

Damning discoveries made by the Labour Registrar of large scale financial irregularities, including a questionable loan amounting to R12 million received from VBS mutual bank, could leave SAMWU under administration.

The biggest municipal trade union in South Africa, the South African Municipal Workers’ Union (Samwu) could be placed under administration soon.

This follows several damning discoveries made by the Labour Registrar Advocate Lehlohonolo Molefe of large scale financial irregularities, including a questionable loan amounting to R12 million Samwu received from the now-defunct VBS Mutual Bank.

According to Molefe, the loan has not been repaid, although Samwu general-secretary Simon Mathe has denied this.

Apartheid Hitman Ferdi Barnard Granted Parole After Serving More Than 20 Years

Justice and Correctional Services Minister Michael Masutha has approved the placement on full parole of Ferdinand Barnard with effect from April 2, 2019, the Ministry of Justice and Correctional Services announced on Thursday, March 7. 

Masutha said this decision does not mean the end of Barnard’s life sentence. The Community Corrections Office will supervise and monitor him as he serves the remainder of his sentence in the community for the rest of his natural life.

Barnard was sentenced to life imprisonment in June 1998 after being convicted on numerous charges including, murder, attempted murder, defeating the ends of justice and unlawful possession of firearms. He has served more than 20 years of his sentence.

One of the two murder charges was in connection with the killing of anti-apartheid activist and Wits University academic Dr David Webster in 1989. Webster was shot and killed at the behest of the aparth

Cyril Ramaphosa expected to sign controversial Aarto Bill (Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences) into law

Stricter measures on the road will be introduced if this Bill is singed into law. The National Assembly has done its bit. Now it is up to President Cyril Ramaphosa to sign the controversial Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences (Aarto) Bill into law.

As reported by Business Tech, both Houses were in agreement that the Bill ought to be singed into law. It is now the responsibility of the president to decide if it will indeed serve its purpose, which is to fundamentally change the way South Africans drive.

Where will we see changes with the Aarto Bill?
Penalties on non-payment of traffic fines?

Once the new Bill becomes law, law enforcement will have the right to clamp down a lot harder on motorists who fail to pay their traffic fines.

Protesters barricade roads, trains cancelled – Atteridgeville Chaos

One person comes up with an idea ” lets protest, make roads inaccessible and damage our country’s economy further by preventing people to go to work”

Somebody has to go and clean up again, which is something they do not consider as they simply can not think that far.

The week kicked off to a bad start in Pretoria West. While it is unclear what the reason for the barricaded roads is, you have to consider that there are very little needed to set of some of our country’s unstable citizens. Stable people do not make their own living conditions unlivable by blocking roads with rubbish, rubble and rocks or burning tires.

Commuters in the area took to social media to reveal that it would be almost impossible to make it out of Atteridgeville after WF Nkomo, Kalafong Road, Lotus Gardens and the N4 was blockaded with tyres, rocks and rubble.

Transnet wants to keep R2,5bn Gupta contract after High Court ordered contract to be cancelled – Wonder water favours and gifts are at stake here?

Transnet intends to disregard the High Court’s court order which ruled that a R2.5 billion contract awarded to T-Systems should be cancelled.

The court ruled that the contract should be granted to Gijima Holdings. Transnet has made no effort to comply with the court order and aims to extend T-Systems’ contract for another 12 to 24 months.

It is not known whether Gijima Holdings will serve Transnet’s actions and whether they will approach the court again.

“Law of the jungle” should no longer be a rule in ANC, expresses Trevor Manuel after voicing his frustration about poor leadership of -ANC comrades in parliament

The former finance minister, Trevor Manuel, expressed his frustration of the poor leadership of parliamentarians.

He requested senior ANC members to teach current ANC leaders to do their job better.

He reckons that the “law of the jungle” should no longer be a rule and that people should be taught what a balance sheet is and what the figures in the state mean.

Someone who addresses other people as “comrades” cannot just sit in parliament and get away with doing absolutely nothing, Manuel said.

Municipal workers sleeping and not working all day in Krugersdorp? – It’s been reported that municipal workers arrive every day just to lie or sit around, making more waste than they actually clean UP

Long grass and unkempt sidewalks don’t seem all that unusual in Krugersdorp. But, municipal workers are rarely seen cutting grass, trimming bushes and removing trash from public grounds.

And when you do see them working around town, the last thing you’d expect is to find them sleeping or socialising on the job.

The News received reports of municipal workers slacking off and decided to investigate.

At about 11.30am on Friday, 22 February, no less than 12 municipal workers in overalls were lying in the shade on the sidewalk between Viljoen Street and Key West Shopping Centre.

Two car guards at the shopping centre, Chris du Plessis and Willie Pretorius, said they saw them being dropped off there every morning at around 8am, and they got picked up again by 3pm. This, they said, has been happening on and off for over a year, and has happened four times this week.

Why is Telkom donating R1 Million to the EFF? Why are tax payers being indirectly forced to fund this far-left political party?

Telkom is funded by the state, therefore, funded by you and me through taxes. Furthermore, the state is run by the ANC, this would mean that the ANC is indirectly using our taxes to fund the EFF. What is going on?
