38,9% Is The ‘Real’ Matric Pass Rate, According To The DA

The DA has claimed that the matric pass rate is incorrect, just after the announcement of the 2019 results by Basic Education Minister, Angie Motshekga.

The Democratic Alliance (DA) has called the Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga’s bluff saying that her announcement of 81.3% for the 2019 matric pass rate is incorrect and the ‘real’ pass rate is in fact 38.9%.

In the statement, the DA congratulated each learner who passed the NSC examination, however had this to say:

“Whilst Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga and the Department of Education are celebrating an all-time high matric pass rate of 81.3%, the Democratic Alliance can reveal that the real pass rate is in fact 38.9%.”

Why a pass rate of 38.9%?

DA Minister of Basic Education, Nomsa Marchesi explained that in 2017, a total of 1 052 080 learners were enrolled in grade 10, yet only 409 906 learners eventually passed matric last year.

Chickenpox outbreak in Cape Town CBD where foreign nationals are being accommodated, but officials are denied entry!

Health officials from the City of Cape Town and Western Cape Government are trying to gain entry into the Central Methodist Church in the CBD where foreign nationals are being accommodated following reports of an outbreak of chicken pox.

They say a group of foreign nationals led by Jean-Pierre Balous, who was arrested for assault, is refusing them entry into the building. Balous has been charged with eight counts of assault and is due to appear in court. Health officials say his followers are demanding his release. Balous has been accused of being untrustworthy by another group led by Papi Sukami. More than 800 foreign nationals have been living inside the church since being removed outside the office of the UN High Commission for Refugees in Green Market Square in October. Police are monitoring the situation.

SA Sewage system collapse a ticking ‘time bomb’ – Another reason why we live in a sh*thole country!

Methane bubbles popping on the river’s surface, sewage pipes clogged with tampons, diapers and toilet paper, and the smell of faeces lingering in the air.

These scenes are everyday realities for residents of Emfuleni – a municipality southwest of Johannesburg – as the breakdown of the area’s pipes, pumps and wastewater treatment plants causes sewage to overflow into one of South Africa’s largest rivers.

As the government announced a major plan in November 2019 to address the wastewater crisis and an ongoing drought, residents told the Thomson Reuters Foundation the seeping sewage is making their homes unliveable and their children sick.

“This is a national crisis,” said colonel Andries Mokoena Mahapa from his temporary office in the city of Vanderbijlpark near the Vaal River, where the South African army was dispatched to assist with sanitation repairs last year.

WHY is President Ramaphosa silent about Farm Murders? Doubt his new role as Chairman of the African Union will change anything

South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa is the incoming new chair of the African Union for the year 2020.

South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa is set to take over the chairmanship of the African Union for the year 2020, replacing Egypt’s Abdel Fattah el-Sisi who chaired the organization through 2019.

In his New Year’s address, the South African leader pledged to use the opportunity to rally Africa to actualize the Continental Free Trade Agreement, whose operational phase was launched in July in Niamey, Niger.

“From January, South Africa takes up its position as chair of the African Union. We will seek to work with our sister countries to realise an Africa Free Trade Area that stretches from Cape Town to Cairo, and from Dakar to Mombasa,” a statement from the South African presidency read.

Christmas Day births – Northern Transvaal 3 white babies were born and other 59 babies mainly black – an indication of who is responsible for the overpopulation in Africa

On Christmas Day, Western Cape hospitals stood out to care for all the expectant women who gave birth one after another.

At least 91 births were reported that day, of which two are white births, which is also an indication of who is responsible for the overpopulation in Africa.

In the Northern Transvaal three whites were born on Christmas Day, and the other 59 were mainly black babies.

It is unknown how many were born in Natal and on the Rand, but unconfirmed reports state that minors are responsible for almost half of the cases reported.

409 Farm attacks and 56 farm murders in 2019 – Slaughter of white farmers in SA increases, especially in rural areas

The massacre in rural areas has increased in recent years, according to the latest available figures on farm attacks and murders.

Henry Geldenhuys, deputy president of the agricultural organization TAU SA, says that according to their statistics, there were 409 farm attacks in 2019 compared to 395 farm attacks in 2018, during the same period 56 murders on farms tenor 53 of the previous year. However, he continues by stating that the figures may be even higher as December is not over.

According to Geldenhuys, there were even farm attacks on Christmas Day in Harding respectively in KwaZulu-Natal, where a farmer was attacked with a knife, in Kakamas in the Northern Cape, where a family was attacked, and in Bapsfontein in Gauteng, where a farmer was assaulted. SANDF confirms SA Air Force plane crash in Democratic Republic of Congo

A South African Air Force plane crashed at Goma Airport in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on Thursday afternoon.

South African National Defence Force (SANDF) spokesperson Siphiwe Dlamini said the plane had been deployed in the Democratic Republic of the Congo as part of the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission (MONUSCO).

It was damaged after crash landing.

“The C130 from the South African Air Force was on its way back to Goma after delivering logistic supplies at Beni when the incident happened,” he said.

“Nobody was injured during the landing and a Board of Inquiry will be convened to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.”

Dlamini said more information would be released once it was available.

Videos on social media showed smoke rising from the plane.

Local news website ICI KIVU quoted UN spokesperson Mathias Gillman as saying that the left engine had caught alight.

SA’s expected economic growth is adjusted to 0.9% for 2020 – ANC regime is responsible for SA being in such a mess

The World Bank has just adjusted South Africa’s projected economic growth to 0.9% for 2020 amid the uncertainty surrounding Eskom and load shedding. The 1.3% growth that the World Bank initially predicted for 2019 has now also been adjusted to 0.4%.

In spite of these realities, the ANC clings to the ideology that got us into this troubled position. President Ramaphosa explains what their approach to state-owned companies, so-called strategic assets, will remain:

“As we do this, we are clear that the state will retain ownership of all those state-owned enterprises that are strategic. This is so that these entities are able to perform the crucial economic and developmental functions that the market would not own be able to perform. ”

Convicted “racist”Vicki Momberg is suing the state for R8,5 million

Speaking to News24 on Thursday, Momberg’s lawyer, Anesh Sukdeo said her client was suing the South African Police Service (SAPS), justice ministers, provincial and national police commissioners as well as the National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP), for R8.5 Million for the unlawful arrest and detention effected on her on November 6.

Sukdeo said the R8.5 million claim includes R2.5 million for her unlawful arrest and detention from November 6 to December 27 at a rate of R50 000 per day, R1 million for defamation, pain, suffering and anguish, R2.5 million for malicious legal proceedings and another R2.5 million for wrongful and malicious legal proceedings.

The lawyer said while the police claimed there was a warrant of arrest instructing Momberg’s arrest on November 6, that was not the case and instead they had an “apprehension order”.

What does the ANC know about fitness? – Gyms and fitness trainers will be government regulated – and can be shut down – under a new draft plan

Gyms and fitness trainers will be answerable to a new body that will be set up by the minister of sport, under a new draft law – with the power to close down gyms and suspend the registration of fitness professionals if they break the rules.

The Fitness Industry Regulatory Authority is one proposal in the draft National Sport and Recreation Amendment Bill published for public comment in December. The law is intended to give the minister of sport more direct control of sporting codes and to create various new bodies, including one to regulate “combat sport” and a Sport Arbitration Tribunal.

But the change with the biggest impact would be the fitness regulator, which under the current draft has wide powers and responsibilities that seem to cover pretty much anything resembling a gym, and anyone who helps others get and stay fit in exchange for money.
