Cash-strapped Road Accident Fund struggles to pay billions in outstanding debt – This is just another SOE that is collapsing under ANC-regime’s rule

As thousands of road accident victims are anxiously waiting to be compensated by the cash-strapped Road Accident Fund (RAF) following court orders in their favour, the Gauteng High Court, Pretoria, is expected to soon deal with the fund’s inability to pay up.

Hundreds of claimants recently turned to the court where they had obtained an urgent order to attach eight of the RAF’s Absa bank accounts. The bank was ordered to use the proceeds from the accounts to pay the 346 injured victims.

The RAF in turn headed to court last month, in which it wanted this order lifted, as it said it simply couldn’t afford to pay these claimants, as its outstanding debt was more than R17billion. The fund said it couldn’t operate without its bank accounts as it is was struggling to stay afloat.

This application was not entertained by the urgent court, which meant that the bank accounts remained attached. But it came to light that the RAF then instruct

12 Army members arrested for the disappearance of nineteen R4 assault rifles are set free on a mere warning

The military court released 12 army members with only a warning after they were arrested in connection with the disappearance of nineteen R4 assault rifles.

The army members were arrested between December 24 and 27, 2019 on charges of housebreaking, theft and negligent loss of firearms after the disappearance of the weapons from the storeroom on their base.

The suspects, including captains, lieutenants, sergeants, and staff sergeants, were denied bail a week ago because the investigating officer and the then presiding military judge feared they might interfere with the investigation and evidence. It was then postponed for further investigation until Friday.

Their release is subject to various conditions, including moving the four officers and eight deputy officers from the Lyttelton Tek base in Centurion to other units in the Pretoria area.

More Unreported Murders. Is Murder Now So Common & Boring That Mainstream Media Doesn’t Bother Reporting it, or is it Just Not Profitable in The “Mass Market”?

In the media world there is a saying: If it bleeds, it leads. However according to the headlines and frontpages of mainstream media nowadays, it would seem this is no longer the case, as alleged racism is treated far more serious than murder or rape and given far more coverage! In fact with 56 murders a day, many homicides barely make the Facebook pages of these newspapers and rape doesn’t even get reported in many cases!

The owner of the Engen garage at Cocomo’s in Klerksdorp, Cobus Fourie whose wife is Nicolene, was fatally shot in his chest during an armed robbery on Monday morning, 6 January 2020. He died in hospital moments later. The incident was not reported in mainstream media but widely shared on Facebook, including the Facebook page of Klerksdorp Times itself.

Winburg and Kroonstad’s water has become so polluted that it is not possible to purify it with chemicals anymore. The water supplied in the pipe system and coming out of taps in the towns has become so polluted by raw sewage, that it has become impossible to drink because of the serious health hazard.

In Winburg the water that is coming out of taps is grass green since 28 December 2019. The DA has now laid criminal charges in terms of the Water Act against the Mayor and municipal manager for criminal negligence for their failure to provide clean water, but what will that help?

This warped system has enabled corrupt individuals to benefit personally from contracts as the country’s key services have steadily eroded. While BEE provided the mechanisms for state capture, the SA-specific term for wide-scale graft, it has also facilitated the spread of parasites that have, and continue to, suck the life-blood out of the country. This is the assessment of environmental expert Professor Anthony Turton, who warned some years back that Eskom was in critical condition – but no-one was listening. Now raw sewage flows in many streets and the electricity is turned off for hours on end, in what looks like a return of sorts to the dark ages, he points out. We note the murder of 2 white men which was mentioned on Facebook but nowhere, not anywhere, in any sort of media. Both were killed. They are Donovan Visagie (22) and Clive Dawson

Donovan Visagie was on his way to meet some friends to watch fireworks. His 3 friends was being robbed , when he arrived . As he got out of the car Donavan was shot by the attackers. Three men fled the crime scene in the direction of Muzenville Krugersdorp

24 train wagons set on fire at Bloemfontein train station

An arson case is under investigation after 24 train wagons were set on fire at the Bloemfontein train station.

Police spokesman Brig. Motantsi Makhele says that an employee of Prasa saw that smoke was coming out of a bunch of train cars standing next to the train track around 2.30pm on Saturday. He went to investigate and found 24 burning train wagons. Each one of the wagons is about R4 million work.

According to Makhele, the cause of the fire is still being investigated, but it has already been established that there was no fuel or electricity supply in the wagons.

A Prasa spokeswoman could not be reached for comment this morning.

Solidarity: Eskom is in crisis due to years of looting, mismanagement and race obsession; asking taxpayers to fund R1.8 billion in performance bonuses is wrong

Eskom is in crisis and should be treated as a crisis. The company is hopelessly bankrupt and operationally fragile due to years of looting, mismanagement and race obsession. The new CEO, André de Ruyter, has to be given comprehensive powers similar to that of a business rescue practitioner. If Eskom is not treated as if it is in business rescue, it is going to explode on itself and South Africa.

Asking in court documents that taxpayers should finance R1,8 billion in performance bonuses does not fall within a framework of crisis thinking. We did not have access to the documents, but if they ask for R1.8bn worth of performance bonuses to be financed, it is wrong. Eskom’s bonus policy states that bonuses will only be paid out if the company makes a profit. The policy is also applied in this way. Our members have not received bonuses for the past two years. #ParasiticParastatal Eskom seems to have a strange idea about what a performance bonus is and why it actually gets paid. It secretly wants to spend R1,8 BILLION on performance bonuses for the current and following 2 years, even as we face phase 4-6 “load shedding” at the moment and it seems like daily rolling blackouts will be with us for quite some time.

According to Rapport Eskom did not disclose this fact to the public and NERSA (National Energy Regulator of South Africa) found out about this all by itself. It is not a new occurrence either as in 2017 Eskom paid out R4, 2 BILLION in bonuses, so they cannot claim ignorance. If that amount is evenly divided amongst Eskom’s 47658 employees, it amounts to R88,000 per employee!

Annel Engelbrecht, owner of the Koeitjies and Kalfies creche in Centurion, still suffers the consequences of a fake racism incident manufactured by a racebaiting black mother which was picked up by Panyaza Lesufi, the well known hater of Afrikaans language schools and MEC for education in Gauteng.

While the rest of the country has moved on due to mainstream media ignoring and forgetting about the incident, her reputation is still being harmed and she still suffers financially as a result of the fake and false allegations. This is because prospective clients google the name of her creche to do their research, before placing their children there, and she believes the negative search results which bring up the incident, is costing her prospective placements. Because she never got an apology after being falsely accused of racism she has no way of resoundingly countering the allegation.
