In this video by ‘Loving Life’ we see that the parallel paths of South Africa and Zimbabwe are very similar. The only winners in this scenario are the politicians.

The video looks at how Mugabe took over a very economically sound country in 1980 and brought it to its knees. The similarities of corruption, expropriation of land from white farmers, the complete collapse of industry and investors fleeing are undeniable. The video reflects on the situation as it is now in Zimbabwe and how the people are starving!

SA does not have a rosy image as an investment destination – SA has been slithering down the WEF’s annual Global Competitiveness Index reaching 67 out of 140 countries

To be blunt, SA does not have a rosy image as an investment destination. One does not have to look further than the WEF’s annual Global Competitiveness Index (CPI). In the 2006/2007 report, SA was ranked 45 out of 125 countries. Since then, SA has been slithering down the index, reaching 67 out of 140 countries in the 2018 report.

The country’s downward trajectory was hastened by poor rankings in health (mainly HIV/Aids and tuberculosis), information and communication technology adoption, skills (educational quality), the number of days it takes to start a business, institutions (crime, police services, public trust in politicians, diversion of public funds, efficiency in government spending, irregular payments and bribes, business costs of crime and violence), and infrastructure (quality of electricity supply). These are all areas under direct control of the government.

The Secretary of the Commission investigating State capture, dr. Khotso De Wee had to go on “leave” after it was revealed that he also received Bosasa bribes.

The accusation was made on Friday, the third day of Angelo Agrizzi’s testimony before the Commission.

In addition to the accusation against the secretary, it is also another point of reference as to what extent the actual situation of corruption in South-Africa seems to be.

Agrizzi said he was informed that De Wee secretary was one of several senior officials at the Department of Justice who received Bosasa bribe money.

Observers say it now appears that the country is totally rotten because of corruption, and that this is probably just the peak of a massive iceberg corruption.

Nephew of Zuma sequestrated after eating himself obese on the benefits of BEE, now it’s payday and the money is up

Jacob Zuma’s millionaire cousin, Khulubushe, has been sequestrated by the court because he did not hold his credit agreement with his creditors. This includes thousands of miners who lost their income through the Aurora scandal, where (Makhulu) bushe was the director.

Khulubushe has eaten himself obese on the benefits of BEE. Now it’s payday and the money is up. He must now sit down at the fire together with his cousin Jacob … until his pardon is also taken by the court.

Along the road a thief will somehow and someday be caught out, no matter how hard you try to escape this reality.

Now taxpayers must suffer for maladministration and corrupted Govan Mbeki Municipality – Taps run dry in Bethal after municipality fails to pay R87.7m water bill

The taps ran dry in Bethal, Mpumalanga, in December when Rand Water Board reduced water pressure by 40% for non-payment of an R87.7-million back-bill owed by the Govan Mbeki Municipality.

More than half the town is reckoned to be without water.

Residents are furious because they have paid their water bills, and want to know what the municipality has done with the money. Many suspect corruption is at the root of the problem.

Last Wednesday students at the Jim van Tonder School in Bethal were sent home because there was no water for showering, toilets and drinking. The town’s abattoir has also shut down. Hennie Rademeyer runs an ice factory in the town and he has had to shut his business down because he cannot get water.

The possible syphoning off of public funds for the benefit of the ANC exposed: How Zuma friends tried to steal R45m to buy ANC votes

Jacob Zuma was successfully ousted as president just over a year ago, but his legacy of corruption has a long tail. As Marianne Thamm reports for the Daily Maverick, individuals close to Zuma appear to have been involved in an elaborate plan to siphon R45m through the police service to buy votes.

The plot centres around a police contract allegedly irregularly awarded – and at an inflated price. The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) believes money was to be laundered for the purchasing of votes at the ANC’s national conference in December 2017. The scandal emerged in court papers.

While the ruling party, now led by President Cyril Ramaphosa, gears up for its week of annual January 8 celebrations, culminating on Saturday 12 January at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, the cosmic debris from its life-or-death 54th elective conference in 2017 keeps pockmarking the political landscape.

ANC-controlled city council of Vredendal wants to borrow R10 million from Standerd Bank – ANC ruling party is sinking deeper and deeper into debt!

The ANC-controlled City Council of Matzikama (Vredendal and the surrounding area) will request approval at a Council meeting for taking an external loan at Standard Bank of R10 million.

The loan is in part financing of its 2018/19 capital budget. No further information is known about the term, repayment amount, interest as well as how the funds will be generated to service the nearly R100,000 per month payment.

Municipalities and government institutions were previously warned not to enter into loans to repay other debts or capital projects that cannot be repaid.

So Zuma is living a lavish life on  taxpayers’ hard-earned money! – Taxpayers have to fork out nearly R1m for Zuma’s air transport and cell phone account since he was removed from office as SA’s president

Taxpayers have forked out just under R1m for former president Jacob Zuma, his spouses and support staff’s transport and phone bills in the first nine months of his departure from office.

President Cyril Ramaphosa revealed in a response to a parliamentary question published on Thursday that the state paid R150,668.38 for Zuma’s flights between February 14, the day he left office, and November 30.

A further R837,444.41 was spent on flying expenses, as well as cellphone, accommodation and car rental expenses for Zuma, his spouses and two support staff members during the period.

Ramaphosa was responding to a written question by DA chief whip John Steenhuisen who wanted to know about the costs incurred by the state on Zuma’s trips and all related expenses for the former president.
